Under the direction of Denise Howell, tasked with coordinating guests and topics, as well as co-hosting the weekly Legal-Technology podcast, This Week in Law. Each episode of This Week in Law is 90 minutes' worth of informal, free-flowing discussion of recent developments in Internet and technology law.

Privacy Rights Clearinghouse

Intern (Spring 2016), https://www.privacyrights.org , San Diego, CA

Interned under Meghan Land and Beth Givens at the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, a non-profit offering consumer facing advocacy and education in privacy issues. Attended conferences and took conference calls with other privacy organizations, took part in policy discussions and road mapping, assisted drafting of policy letters, briefed supervising attorneys on emerging privacy issues. 

New Media Rights, https://www.newmediarights.orgSan Diego, CA

Intern (Summer 2015, Fall 2016)

Interned at New Media Rights, a non-profit organization dedicated to offering reduced or pro bono legal aid to start-ups and artists across the country, under the supervision of Art Neill and Teri Karobonik. As part of New Media Rights, argued on behalf of creators for expanded free speech protections at the U.S. Copyright Office. Was directly involved in a wide variety of assignments, working with clients through email and phone correspondence, on issues ranging from copyright and fair use, to non-disclosure agreements and licensing contracts. Received screen credit for work in ferrying multiple films through the complicated fair use and licensing phase, and assisted in drafting film's Errors and Omissions Insurance application. As a final assignment for the internship, rewrote the organization’s “Citizen’s Guide to Creative Commons,” available here.

Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA

Web Director (2010-12), Program Director (2011), On-Air Announcer (2010-12) at KLSU 91.1 F.M.

Worked in the non-profit radio industry directing and managing web portal for Student Media outlet. Experience with mixed media and social networking integration. Worked on organizing successful fundraiser that raised $16,000 for Louisiana State University’s KLSU in April of 2012. As Program Director hired, trained and coordinated on-air announcers for student run non-profit radio station.
